How long do you take in the shower?
Submitted by Strive2Be.
Amazingly, I take a short time, probably around 15 minutes? But my whole morning routine is pretty long. It takes me an hour or more but that includes grooming, getting and eating breakfast, getting my lunch ready, and getting dressed.
Wow no one's on my Google Talk list. Guess I'm one of the few [suckers] who's working today. At least the office is quiet.
Because of the Jardine crib recall, everyone and their [paranoid] mama went out to buy cribs right away. Wouldn't you wait for the kit to arrive to make sure? I know that safety of your child is of utmost importance but really before all this came out, you were still using your crib right? Anyway, the hubby just called and he said he got out early (lucky bastard) so he checked out BRU for the cribs. Well there weren't a lot of cribs left. The only ones left were the expensive ones. If this trend continues, we'll have to order it and wait until they arrive. I'm really glad we have a pack 'n play. I know that this will settle down in the next few weeks and we're not gonna do anything about it until we get the kit at least. We also have several options about what to do for Connor's sleeping situation. I'm really hoping they open up the online ordering option cause it only makes sense. If you're ordering from BRU online, what difference does it make?
Oh well, I'm not in a hurry but I am secretly excited that we're getting a new crib. However, I do like the crib he has now though.
So I called Jardine and they said that they'll send me a kit and then we'll get a voucher for the amount of the crib we got. It'll take 1-2 weeks for the kit to come in. I just read their instructions and we really have to get a new one because we need to send them the bolts and the mattress support plates. I saw a lot of nice lifetime cribs online at BRU but they say you can't purchase it online. Too bad cause I saw a lot of nice ones for the same price or even less than our current crib. Man, I'm glad there's a close BRU by us. Otherwise, it'd be a pain.
If I don't find a crib I like for now, we'll go with the pack 'n play. At least he won't be banging his head on that and it's really deep.
If you're one of the "lucky" ones who purchased a Jardine crib from 2002 to 2008, your crib may have been part of that recall. Ours was. Thank goodness that it's still okay, no slats broke or anything but I do remember Connor's foot getting stuck between one of the end slats. For more info, go here.
What's your favorite time of day and why?
Sunset/Dusk just because things are winding down. Everything feels so nostalgic, especially when the crickets start chirping and nature takes on this soft look.
Whenever I think of dusk, it reminds me of a lazy late afternoon in the South where you sip your lemonade or sweet tea in your front porch and start chatting with your friends.
How have you changed in the past year?

Well, there was a major change for me---the baby. I think I've learned to be more patient and also I'm coping better with less sleep. I'm also getting more conscious of what I do, if I'm affecting the family somehow with my decisions. I guess I should say I grew up a little.
lwtsh will probably appreciate this post but my cousin, who's a financial consultant, told me about this great website that allows you to see all your accounts in one place (checking, savings, investments, credit cards). It tells you your balances, your spending trends and even compares you to others in your area. How cool is that? I tried it today and man I'm hooked. It's too bad they don't have my credit union listed yet but I'm sure they will in the near future. I should tell my hubby about it later today. Man, I need to watch my spending on food/dining and shopping. Eeek! Although it was comparable for the most part to people in San Francisco. I'll have to do this for several months to really see how I spend.
What's your favorite type of cheese? Or, if you don't like cheese, why not?

I just recently started delving into cheeses but I do like gouda cheese, the smoked kind. I tried brie and although it was good, I don't think it agreed with my stomach. Although, I think it was THAT particular cheese not brie in general.
LOL! Oh poor Connor! This is such an awesome photo. read more
