So I added 2 more fish in my tank right and more fish means more waste. For the past few days my tank accumulated some major algae. I think it's my plants that are causing this. I've had an aquarium before with the same amount of fish but I've never had algae this bad. So the hubby and I bought some stuff to clean it up: gravel vacuum and a magnetic algae cleaner. We also decided to get an air pump to get some bubbles in there. After cleaning it up, it looks much better! I think I'm gonna stick with plastic plants from now on though. As much as I would like live plants in there, it's just too much hassle. I think my fishies are happier too.
I've decided to add a Christmas playlist into my ipod. Yes I know it seems early but Thanksgiving is only about 2 weeks away and then you know it's ALL about the Christmas music. I absolutely love Christmas music. Maybe it's because we only get to listen to it once a year. We were at Best Buy earlier and I saw this for $9.99. This is one of the CDs I've been looking for. It's usually out of stock or expensive whenever I see it so I just got it. I uploaded about 200+ songs in my Christmas playlist--insane I know but I love it!! My favorite is still Lea Salonga's Christmas Album. It's also one of my precious CDs cause it's signed by her. =) Anyway, just wanted to bore you with what I've been doing with my weekend.
I've also been purging my old clothes from my bins. What I do is I rotate my clothes so I'll have room. I need to make room in my closet and I figured we should donate some clothes before the year ends so we can get our tax-deductible receipt.
We donated the hubby's old dresser yesterday and I'm glad we did. Well, I was a bit nostalgic since he's had that for a long, long time but I think it's better he did. Now our spare bedroom looks stark since it's not painted yet and the new dresser we got is white. However, once we rearrange things and put the paint in, I think it's gonna look cool. I still have a couple of pictures I'd like to hang but we need to buy frames for them. I have big plans for this little place of ours and now that our vacation is out of the way, we can concentrate on our humble abode for now.
I still can't believe it's already November. I feel it in the air and of course the store displays but I still don't feel like it's the Holidays. I still think it's October. I need to get my mind adjusted. Although I wish my family was here for Thanksgiving, I think I'm content that I'll see them during Christmas. I can't wait.
This is one store I never really went into. It's been at our mall for a few years now but I never went in. I think it's because I know it's a high end store but I decided to check it out yesterday and man.. I am in love with their stuff mainly because I just love the smell of lavender. I mean I've liked lavender since I was in high school but I am having this resurgence of lavender affinity lately. I've been looking for lavender satchets for awhile and I usually only see cedar-scented ones. Apparently L'Occitane has them but I never saw it at their store. I don't think I looked hard enough. So probably next time when I get my paycheck, I'll be giving them a visit.
I am jealous of Eloise and happyclams because they are watching Wicked soon. Aaargh.. I can't wait!
Who knew I'd enjoy gardening? Although I'm not much of an aficionado compared to my mom but I am starting to appreciate when a flower blooms after you've cared for it for a few weeks. Most of my plants are doing well and yesterday I ended up buying tea roses. I only bought one for now to see how it goes. I really enjoy looking at the various colors when I look outside the window. Not to brag or anything but I think we're the only ones in our building that planted something in our front yard. We don't have a large yard but I'd like to make it as colorful as possible. The builders did plant some small shrubby looking plants there but they don't really flower much and they're kinda ugly. I think I'll eventually yank them out. I'd rather plant pretty flowers there. Another option would be to plant lavender but I think they might get too big and bushy in our front yard.
I've already thought about what to plant when we do get a backyard big enough. Hmm.. sampaguita, persimmons (for the hubby) and lavender of course. hahaha.. Oh and some roses too. One can dream right?
