I still can't believe Thanksgiving is this Thursday. It totally just snuck up on me. I'm looking forward to the Holidays but at the same time I'm sad because the year is coming to a close. There are so many things to be thankful for.
Wow no one's on my Google Talk list. Guess I'm one of the few [suckers] who's working today. At least the office is quiet.
I just found out why that certain area in San Francisco is called the tenderloin district. mwahahaha.. I will never look at pork the same way again.
Gossip Girl probably one of my favorite shows right now. I remember seeing ads for it at the mall a few months ago and I got excited. I read a couple of the Gossip Girl books so I'm glad they finally put it on as a TV series. I really like Blake Lively who plays Serena van der Woodsen. I think she's a pretty girl. As for Leighton Meester, the girl who plays Blair Waldorf, I still like Summer Roberts' character better, we'll see.
Other than Gossip Girl, Ugly Betty is another show I'm really enjoying. I'm glad we went back to Comcast because they have a dual tuner for the DVR. Last time, I couldn't record Ugly Betty because it's the same time as Smallville, which the hubby religiously watches.
I really thought that the days would inch by REALLY slowly but having a baby actually does the opposite. The days are going by really fast. I'm trying to enjoy every minute of it though.
Hubby and I watched HP Order of the Phoenix last night. We had good seats which I'm glad about unlike when we watched Pirates of the Caribbean where we sat on the bottom row. Anyway, I liked the movie. I can't believe that the main characters shot up like weeds as the years went on. Emma Watson (Hermione) is pretty tall. You could sense the darker theme of the story. I had to ask the hubby who the other characters were since it's been awhile since I read Order of the Phoenix. I'm not the type who'd re-read a 700 page book just so I can refresh my memory. :p
I don't know if I'm just gettin' old or if it's because of the pregnancy but I don't get people who can watch this movie (or any movie really) in the theater 2, 3 or even 4 times. Well for one, I can think of better things to buy with my money and two, who can stand to sit on their ass for 2-3 hours at a time to watch the same thing? I guess if you're a hardcore fan though you wouldn't mind but I'd rather watch the DVD in the comfort of my own home.
Pardon my semi-b*tchy remark there. I had a bad afternoon yesterday and this week isn't starting so well either. But I know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Last Thursday I got my piano tuned up. The notes in the upper register were starting to bother me cause I could really notice the off pitch. He spent a lot of time fixing the piano, including adjusting the hammers and stuff. After he was done, I could totally hear the difference. There's nothing like playing on a newly-tuned piano. :) I've been telling my mom to get the piano tuned at her house so it'll sound better but I guess since no one really plays, she didn't wanna bother. Whenever I visit and I try to play, it sounds like nails scratching on a chalkboard. Yikes!
Going to the spa last Saturday really helped take out my kinks but I think she put too much pressure near my neck area so it feels a little sore. I love their prenatal bed. Even though I'm not that big yet, I can't lie on my stomach anymore. I'm not sure if we'll have another opportunity for a massage but I'm glad I went at least once.
There are so many plans we're trying to put together for later this year and maybe next year but we'll see how this parenting thing goes. We found out that Phantom of the Opera is coming to Sacramento and we would really like to see it. Hopefully we do.
Can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow. Maybe we'll watch Harry Potter at night.
By the way, I was really surprised by Peach Girl. I thought it's one of those cutesy, kiddy anime but it's not. I think it's even better than His and Her Circumstance. I even got the hubby to watch. Can't wait for Vol. 2 to arrive.
One thing I like about June/July is that sales are everywhere. The only downside is that I can't really shop for clothes due to obvious reasons but it doesn't mean I can't shop for everything else. It's a good thing I don't live near Cabazon outlets cause seriously, I'd go broke if I was close enough where I can go there every weekend. I may sound like a shopaholic but really I usually buy the bulk of my stuff during sale season and I don't think I've ever paid full price on an item for a long time unless it's something I REALLY REALLY want and it's hard to find. I've told myself that I can't go shopping until I get paid next week. That way it gives me a chance to mull things over.
One thing that sucks though is that July 4th falls on a Wednesday which means I'm off that day but have work the following days. I think that's weird but whatever. I'll still take it. I'm mumbling today. It's a slow day.
